For the second year, students are invited to submit proposals for site specific and/or large-scale installations for the main Nave during the 2018 Commencement Exhibition (May 10-13, 2018). Proposals should be for 3D projects that create a physical presence within the nave space. The deadline is April 1st. Please read the FAQ before applying.
All graduating CCA Students are invited to propose work that is new, experimental, and uniquely suited to CCA's main Nave. Approximately 6-10 installations will be selected, and may be eligible for up to $500 in materials and installation support. Work may be freestanding, performative, or site-specific. We welcome students to look for underutilized spaces in the Nave when proposing site specific work. The project does not have to exist physically yet, but we do need to see a sketch or 3D rendering within your proposal. Applicants may be contacted for additional information during the course of the application review process in order to ensure feasibility and project success. Please read the FAQ before applying. Funds cannot be used to reimburse for work that has already been fabricated, but it is acceptable to apply for funds to enlarge or modify an existing work, project, or model. Collaborative and interdisciplinary projects that branch across majors and disciplines are welcome, as long as the team includes at least one graduating student. Students will be required to sign an exhibition agreement before obtaining funds, and must be available to install onsite May 7-9 and be onsite to deinstall May 14. The exhibition is open to the public (with 4000+ attendees estimated) from May 10-13, 2018. For additional questions, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: If you are interested in applying with an existing individual artwork to participate in the Commencement Exhibition, you should use this application. You are allowed to complete both applications (but please apply with different works).
